Census Bureau: More women than men in Belfast in 2017


Of the 1,119 people living in Belfast in 2017, 57.2 percent (640) were women and 42.8 percent (479) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Keystone Business News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 440-to-298. In the 65 years and over age range, there were 118 females and 68 males.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau's American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.

Statistical data for 2018 will be released later this year.
