Graduates earn 348 degrees, certificates from Community College of Beaver County


About 33.9 percent of the 348 degrees and certificates handed out by Community College of Beaver County in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Monaca conferred 94 associate's degrees and 24 certificates in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 70 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 34 associate's degrees in general studies and 25 associate's degrees in "other" business administration, management and operations.

The college enrolled 2,506 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
