Graduates earn 2,559 degrees, certificates from Community College of Allegheny County


About 28.1 percent of the 2,559 degrees and certificates handed out by Community College of Allegheny County in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Pittsburgh conferred 534 associate's degrees and 185 certificates in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in general studies. Data shows the school gave out 333 associate's degrees in general studies, followed by 296 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 217 associate's degrees in general business administration and management.

The college enrolled 16,147 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
