Dauphin County issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
Students and adults of all ages who are seeking jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities are invited to attend Dauphin County’s annual employment, internship and resource fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at Harrisburg Mall, 3501 Paxton St., Harrisburg. Over 60 employers, colleges, training programs, government agencies and community and faith-based organizations will participate in this free, one-day event.
“If you’re looking for a summer job, internship, full-time employment, college or summer camp, there is no better place to find it than Dauphin County’s one-stop shop resource fair,” said Dauphin County Commissioner George P. Hartwick, III. “Come dressed for success and meet face to face with employers and recruiters.”
Residents age 16 and older who are looking for employment or training can get assistance with the following: transportation, health screenings and forms for work, child care/day care assistance and more.
“Our goal is to connect people, families and young adults to the tools they need to be successful and build a bright future,” said Dauphin County Commissioner Jeff Haste. “Whether you’re interested in a career in nursing, business or law enforcement, you’ll find it here.”
A family fun zone will feature fitness programs, such as Zumba; free health screenings; and nutrition information. The event also will feature prizes and giveaways throughout the day.
“Thanks to the many employers, nonprofit groups and educational institutions for coming together to take part in this event,” said Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries. “Don’t miss this great opportunity to meet with employers and recruiters and discover what’s possible for your future.”
