GEISINGER LIFE FLIGHT: Geisinger Holy Spirit to host free session on pulmonary fibrosis

Geisinger Life Flight issued the following announcement on Dec. 27.

Geisinger Holy Spirit offers a monthly support group for individuals with lung disease. The group meets on the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Ortenzio Heart Center at Geisinger Holy Spirit, 503 N. 21st St., Camp Hill. On Thursday, Jan. 3, Jennifer Wescoe, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, will provide information about pulmonary fibrosis and how to manage it.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a scarring of the lung tissue that makes breathing difficult. There is no cure, but those diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis can manage their symptoms with medication and oxygen therapy, or by enrolling in a pulmonary rehab program.

For more information about Geisinger Holy Spirit’s support group, or about the Jan. 3 event, call 717-763-2775.
