Graduates earn 465 degrees from Allegheny College


About 22.8 percent of the 465 degrees and certificates handed out by the Allegheny College in 2016-17 were to students in Biological And Biomedical Sciences programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Meadville conferred 106 bachelor's degrees in Biological And Biomedical Sciences programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Data shows the school gave out 55 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General, followed by 51 bachelor's degrees in Economics, General and 38 bachelor's degrees in Speech Communication and Rhetoric.

The college enrolled 1,920 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
