About 27.2 percent of the 1,011 degrees and certificates handed out by the Marywood University in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Scranton conferred 136 bachelor's degrees and 113 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in Social Work. Data shows the school gave out 131 master's degrees in Social Work, followed by 44 master's degrees in Physician Assistant and 34 bachelor's degrees in Architecture.

The university enrolled 3,008 students for 2016-17, including 1,931 in undergraduate programs and 1,077 in graduate programs.
