Joining the forefront of technology for detailed dissemination of relevant, in-depth information, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) released a new year-in-review video last week entitled The Faces of Shale following its annual meeting.
“While there’s no question that our industry continues to face strong headwinds, the economic, environmental and energy security benefits tied to responsible shale development continue to positively improve livelihoods and communities across the commonwealth,” MSC President David Spigelmyer said.
The masterfully rendered nearly 9-minute video highlights the industry’s impact on families in the business and labor sectors. It includes perspective on day-to-day operations, interview clips, and quotes from individuals employed in the field throughout the commonwealth from both management and staff perspectives, as well as industry professionals. Experts and laymen alike commended the positive impact that the shale industry has had on the state in the video.
One-quarter of all U.S. shale production is supplied by the Utica and Marcellus Gas Shale formations, the video stated.
“The personal stories highlighted in this video are representative of the tens of thousands of hard-working Pennsylvanians across our industry, particularly in the small business and labor community, who are deeply committed to moving Pennsylvania forward and bettering our children’s futures,” Spigelmyer said. “Shale presents a historic opportunity to revitalize our economy, especially our manufacturing base. We need common sense policies, however, to make certain that this great potential is not unnecessarily limited.”
