Pennsylvania clubs and organizations dealing with small games of chance now have until July 1 to report earnings over $20,000, state Sen. Elder Vogel Jr. said Friday.
The Department of Revenue has extended the Feb. 1 deadline because of technical problems with the electronic reporting system. During maintenance to correct the problems, the system will not be available. The department said the system should be functional by June 1.
The department has also made sure that clubs are not penalized for not having their report on file during the system's outage. The department suggests that when the system is functional, clubs with earnings over $20,000 should review the public database to be sure their report has been received.
“The enhanced save functionality and further improvements are being pursued in response to requests from clubs for a reporting system that can be accessed periodically throughout a year to reduce the burden of annual reporting," department representatives said. "Additional detail will be provided when access to the system is restored by June 1."
Clubs that do not have their report on file with the system will be required to complete and submit it by July 1.
