Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based general contractor Galbraith Pre-Design, Inc., said Monday that a new executive will join its team.

Cara Shaffer will become the new director of business development for Galbraith Pre-Design, Inc. As the new director, Shaffer will be responsible for continuing the company's growth and diversification.

Galbraith also announced that it has completed several projects, including a two-story, 20,000-square-foot saw mill facility in Lewisburg; an asphalt parking lot repaving project in Carlisle; and several CT simulators at a number of area medical facilities.

The family-owned and -operated business was launched in 1990. Galbraith specializes in commercial, industrial and institutional construction. Its website said the company has 57 years of combined construction expertise, and many of its work contracts are generated from repeat or referred customers.

President G. Allan Galbraith said on the website that the business has done pre-engineered metal building for the entire life of the company, but also constructs conventional, steel-framed, masonry, wood-framed and concrete buildings as well.

One of the highlights in the company's history was constructing or managing the construction of 30 Hershey's Ice Cream distribution facilities in the United States.
