Allegheny County recently presented Daniel Eichinger with the Exemplary Employee Award.
Eichinger is an attorney within the Appeals Division of the Office of the Public Defender. He is largely responsible for representing appeals cases on behalf of the county to the state superior and supreme courts. He also has taken the initiative to take on preliminary hearings and when possible will follow through to the trial stage. Eichinger also mentors to younger attorneys within the public defender's office.
“We created the Exemplary Employee Award ... to recognize and reward exemplary performance by county employees, particularly when it comes to the exceptional efficiency and productivity of our employees,” Rich Fitzgerald, county executive, said. “By his example and work, Daniel demonstrates that each and every day. Not only does he do his job efficiently and successfully, but he also shares of himself and his talents with clients and coworkers.”
Council member Jim Ellenbogen said that he was proud that Eichinger and his family lived in his district and that in his short three-year stay in the county, Eichinger has already proven to be an invaluable member of the county's legal counsel.
