Navient receives Healthy Workplace Award from Wilkes-Barre Chamber

Navient Corp. recently received the 2014 Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce's Healthy Workplace Continuing Excellence Award.

Sponsored by Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania and ChamberChoice, the Healthy Workplace award recognizes companies' efforts toward the health and well-being of their employees.

Navient, a loan servicing company formerly known as Sallie Mae, offers a variety of incentives and wellness resources to its employees. Among them are a six-week team physical challenge, individual activity tracking and online wellness courses. Participants can receive gift cards as well as paid time off.

"Navient's program is creative and consistent," Donna Sedor, vice president of the chamber, said. "The emphasis on health and wellness can be seen throughout their facility. They are truly a leader in workplace wellness efforts."
