Industrial hemp research in Pennsylvania gained more solid footing Tuesday as legislation introduced by state Rep. Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon) to create an agricultural pilot program was unanimously approved by the Pennsylvania House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee in Harrisburg.
Saying that the Wolf administration is dishonestly working against state lawmakers who oppose the tax hikes included in the governor’s proposed budget, state Rep. Tom Killion (R-Dist. 168) harshly criticized Wolf’s approach on Tuesday.
Late last week, State House Appropriations Committee Chairman William Adolph (R-Dist. 165) lambasted Gov. Wolf’s “unnecessary, knee-jerk veto" of the budget plan in pursuit of a severance tax that Adolph said would not generate anywhere near the revenue the administration has projected.
