WESCO International, Inc., a provider of electrical, industrial, communications products, construction materials and advanced supply chain management and logistics services, has acquired Canton, Massachusetts-based Needham Electric Supply, the company announced this week from its Pittsburgh headquarters.

"We are pleased to join the WESCO team and look forward to working together to pursue new business opportunities and enhance the breadth of services and products for our customers," Needham CEO Joseph Cincotta said.

As an electrical distributor specializing in commercial construction and lighting clients, Needham yields approximately $115 million in revenue annually through its two dozen New England venues.

"Needham Electric Supply is a well-established wholesale electrical distributor with long-standing customer and supplier relationships in New England and includes a national lighting business that serves customers across the U.S.,” John Engel, WESCO chairman, president and CEO, said. “We welcome the Needham team to WESCO. This acquisition is expected to be accretive to earnings by approximately $0.04 per diluted share in the first year of operation."

Along with its industrial products, WESCO offers repair and operating (MRO) and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) items. With 2014 annual sales of approximately $7.9 billion, the company employs approximately 9,200 people, serving more than 25,000 suppliers and over 75,000 commercial and industrial businesses worldwide, including contractors, government agencies, telecommunications services and utilities providers.
