"Cultivating Farming Knowledge," a half-hour special produced by the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau (PFB), will air nationally on Nov. 17 as a part of RFD-TV's "Voices of Agriculture" show.

The program raises awareness of educational outreach programs that allow students and the public at large to see the importance of farms in an economic and communal sense, including the role farmers play in producing food, clothing and energy supplies.

It includes interviews with various farmers, as well as students and teachers from Pennsylvania schools discussing the impact day-long field trips to two farms have on their knowledge and perception of the industry.

The PFB's Mobile Agriculture Education Science Labs will also be featured. The lab allows students to experience agricultural science with equipment that is not readily available in most classrooms. Also discussed is the W.B. Saul School in Philadelphia, which focuses on agricultural science, and the National AG in the Classroom Conference in Hershey.

The show will premiere at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and will be rebroadcast at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 22.

In Pennsylvania, RFD-TV can be found on the DISH Network (Channels 231, 231 HD and 9398), DirectTV (Channel 345) and Verizon FiOS TV (Channel 247).
